A sleeve imported into CLO without point data has a pattern point at every vertex of its cap; after the fix only the four corners are pattern points, the cap is a smooth curve and the notch is kept.

The problem

Hundreds of points where there should be a curve

CLO 2025.2 changed how DXF files are read. The ASTM D6673 standard has two point layers for every pattern piece: layer 2 for turn points (corners) and layer 3 for curve points. When a file has them, CLO knows which vertices are corners. When it doesn't, CLO treats every vertex as a corner.

Most pattern CADs, online pattern makers and PDF converters draw a curve as a long run of short straight segments and leave the point layers out. In CLO 2025.2 and newer that armhole or sleeve cap arrives as hundreds of pattern points, and reshaping it in CLO means dragging them one by one.

That is why a file that imported fine in an older CLO version suddenly looks wrong.

What the fix does

Fewer vertices
Runs of tiny segments on each curve are reduced to the vertices the shape needs. No point moves by more than 0.1 mm.
Corner and curve points
Every vertex is written to the ASTM point layers: layer 2 for corners and line ends, layer 3 for curve points. CLO keeps the corners as pattern points and draws the rest as smooth curves.
Notches
Notches become AAMA notch points (layer 4) with their angle, sitting on a vertex of the cut line, so CLO places them where they belong.
Layer repairs
A cut line saved on the internal-lines layer, a grain line on a misnamed layer and missing units are corrected, so pieces don't come in inside out or at the wrong scale.

Everything else in the file stays as it is: seam allowance, grain lines, internal lines, drill holes, text and piece names.

Why does CLO 2025.2 show so many points on my pattern?

Since version 2025.2, CLO takes the point information from the DXF itself. A file without ASTM turn and curve points gets a pattern point at every vertex, and a curve drawn with hundreds of short segments arrives as hundreds of corners. The pattern is not broken; it just has no data on which points are corners.

Will the fix change the shape of my pattern?

No. The cut line, sew line and internal lines stay within 0.1 mm of the original, corners stay where they are, and seam allowance, grain line, text and piece names are untouched. The preview shows the largest shift measured on your file.

Which DXF files can be fixed?

DXF AAMA and ASTM D6673 files in which every pattern piece is a block, as exported by most pattern CADs (Gerber AccuMark, Optitex, Lectra, Tukatech, Valentina / Seamly2D) and by many pattern shops. If no pieces are found, nothing is charged.

How does the 10-file bundle work?

You pay 1 890 ₽ once (189 ₽ per file). The file you are looking at is unlocked straight away, and the other 9 stay in your account as prepaid files. On your next upload, one click uses a prepaid file instead of paying. They don't expire.

Do I need an account?

Not for the preview. To pay and download you sign in with Google, so the file and any prepaid files stay in your account and can be downloaded again later.

What if CLO still doesn't import it cleanly?

Write to hello@apparelpatternservice.com with the file name. If the fixed file doesn't import cleanly in CLO, you get your money back.
